From my point of view, assessment is a great tool to evaluate the developments negatively or positively. A teacher can use the assessment techniques for herself or for students. From the side of teacher he or she may want to learn is he or she gives relevant and efficient information to children. And from the side of students teachers and families may understand their students or children’s development from the results of assessments. Actually I do not want to mean that all assessment results are accurate but most of the time they work very well. We as a teacher only need to add some missing part to that. For example an in-class observation, individual conversations, peer group observation always should be added to regular testing. Otherwise we may forget to look crucial details. In this regards teachers and families may work together and we can reach a whole picture about a child.
For example when I was a first grade student, my writing was not so good. Due to being a huge class I did not have sufficient attention from my teacher. Therefore I could not go through well. And all my tests I was so excited and due to anxiety I had real trouble in the exams. I got low scores. Then my mother understood that something is wrong with my writing. Then she was interested in me for two weeks. Only in two weeks I reached my friends and I had a good score. The only my need is more attention. So only testing is not enough assessment strategy because there are a lot of factor may affect performance while testing. Assessment is a total subject. As a prospect teacher we need to be careful about our ways of assessment.
